Charles leads Energy UK’s policy advocacy on infrastructure, institutions and governance, and the Industrial Strategy. For the past decade, Charles has led engagement on network funding, delivery, and operation, including on connections reform, digitalisation, network charging, and price controls. Charles champions the delivery of smarter energy networks, streamlined planning and environmental regulations, and a strategically planned system for supply and demand. Charles also leads Energy UK work on how the energy sector is decarbonising the wider economy, identifying pathways to decarbonisation and ensuring that changing demand can be connected and integrated into a clean power system. Before joining Energy UK in 2016, Charles worked in the transport and technology sectors.
